Wedding day craziness

First we will start off with "Kobe's Quote of the Day"

I mentioned that I was going to be leaving in about an hour (to go start filming for a wedding) and Kobe said "Is that when you are taking me to Aunt Bobbie's house?" I said, "No, Dad is going to drop you off there in a couple hours." Kobe wrinkles up his face and says "Now that's weird" and goes back to playing.

Do you ever wonder what goes on in their little head?

ANYWAY, tonight, today, whatever, crazy-crazy day. Had to deal with a little funeral home drama, just enough to have to deal with, but nothing that caused any problems.
Then is was off to the wedding...I don't know how many of you that have been to a wedding where you have to go thru a metal detecor, or have a SWARM of guests with their own video cameras, regular cameras, camera phone, ect. but let me tell you, when you have guests literally stant between you and the bride and groom WHILE THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THEIR CEREMONY so that they can film their own HOMEVIDEO you will know what we felt like today. Plus, the bride and groom where none too happy about their guests behavior either.

Oh, and did I mention that I almost ran out of gas today on I-75 between the Bride's house and the ceremony...oh yeah, that was fun too.

So then, we are all following the Limo (after the ceremony) to a park to take pictures. I don't know what the deal was, but everyone that came to the ceremony thought it was a great idea to carivan behind the limo to the park which made the photographer get lost and the had to wait at the park for 20 minutes for them to show up.

To was super crazy, everything turned out fine. God gave me enough gas to not get stuck on I-75, PLUS nothing came up that put us in a pinch which was all God as well. So even though today was CRAZY, God took care of so much for us and I appreciate that so much!!!

Kobe's Quote of the Day

Pictures Kobe & I walking out of Sam's Club...

"Why didn't they check our thing" says Kobe as he notices the lady that checkes everyone's cart & receipt doesn't stop us.
"Because I didn't buy anything" I reply "They didn't have what I wanted."

"They are going to pay for this" say Kobe as he shakes his head.

Immediately I start laughing...someone has been watching a few too many GOOD VS EVIL shows...

Yea!!!!

Going into the formal dining room

From the kitchen to the hall way that lead to the bedrooms

Tonight Ben finished the Carpet!!! I am SO thrilled to have it done!

Step 1.

Tried to use the staple gun and new staples that Mark went and found for us

-the staple gun wasn't strong enough to get it through the carpet when rolled & padding down to the floor

Step 2.

Leah suggested trying out the nail gun EVEN if Ben thought it wouldn't work.

Step 3.

Ben tries nail gun with smaller nails, doesn't work so well.

Step 4.

Ben found largers nails and it worked!

(hopefully it can with stand the wear & tear but it seems VERY secure.

(I put all the steps on here for Mom & Dad Wentzel because they have been with us through this whole process and I knew they would be curious and laugh about it)

School - day 2

Kobe is off at his second day of school. I actually managed to get him to bed early! I thought I was going to get to go to bed early too and then a remembered a small video project that needed to be done by today as that scrapped that idea, I was thankful God reminded me of it though. Kobe was doing good this morning, pray he has a great day!

*This is a picture of Kobe the night of his first day of school. As you can see he had gotten his books out for us to read to his, but as soon as his head hit the pillow he was out! I was a little thankful just because I was so tired too.

fo-hawk

not so "dweeby" anymore right? :)

Paint Paint Paint

Today my Mom came over and we got painting. She painted my little hall way and part of the kitchen. I worked on the cabinets & the trim out in the indoor/outdoor room. The trim is ALMOST finished and what is done so far in the kitchen looks good. I am going to work at it all evening off and on to try to make as much head way as possible. She is coming back tomorrow and hopefully we will get most of this finished!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

I love this picture

I don't know how she did it-6 kid, still married to my Grandpa & still fabulous :)

Grandma I hope you have a wonderful birthday today! (I hope your hair appt. went good :) )
I was so good to see you yesterday. Have fun tonight at Aunt Di's, we love you!

My newest project

I decided to get started on the indoor/outdoor room. I want to get that and MOST of the kitchen donw this week. I washed the trim in the outdoor room with TSP (yucky stuff) and I swear the stain on all the wood rubbed right off, it was crazy. More work that I thought it would be. But, anyway, I got it all primed and hopefully I will get some painting done tonight.

Kobe had a great first day at school too :)

Do you have plans?

So, I was wondering what we should eat. I mean grill, whatever. Is everyone sick of hamburgers or should we just do that?

It would be great if everyone brought a 2 liter and a dish to pass. Let me know what your thoughts are!

Leah

Then & Now

August 2006-Kobe's first day of Pre-School

August 2007-Kobe's first day of Kindergarten (am I spelling Kindergaten correctly?)

Mrs. Baker

can you see her well enough in this picture?

Back to school...Back to school

Today is Kobe's first day of Kindergarten. There were no tears, neither mine nor Kobe's :), and we even managed to get there on time! Kobe picked out his own outfit after he "vetoed" the shirt I wanted him to wear. :) He is Mr. Independant now, when did that happen?

Saturday Saturday Saturday

Today Kobe & I met Caleb & Vicki at Great Lakes Crossing...we managed to cover the whole mall and find a couple things we needed along the way. We had lunch at the "Rain Forest Cafe" and Kobe got a huge kick out of it. He has been there before but it was especially exciting today I guess. We had so much fun with you Vicki, thanks fr the invite!

Me & Kobe

Caleb was so inthralled with Kobe today especially when we first got to the mall. Caleb's eyes would follow Kobe where ever Kobe went.

Caleb got his first official hair cut today! Sounds like he didn't care for it all that much :)

Kobe also had another special treat today, he got to spend the evening with Shelly, Jay & Brook! They took the kids to play at the mall and out to dinner. Thank you Aunt Shelly & Uncle Jason! Kobe had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Boy, what a busy month!

And I haven't even been flooded with funeral home calls! I have had a lot of "word of mouth" business this month which is a nice change of pace. We still have 2 more weddings to get thru this month, luckily one is going to be a super simple one!

Kobe goes back to school on Monday, MONDAY! I can't believe it, it is still summer isn't it? lol oh well, Kobe is excited to go back anyways. We went to the school's open house yesterday and he got to see his class room and meet his teacher, Mrs. Baker. She is a little hard core for my taste, but I think that will be a good thing, at least I keep telling myself that. :)

Gosh, I keep meaning to take pictures of Cindy's new bathroom for you guys BUT every time I go over there I forget my camera. I think I am going to try again today.

Be praying for Ben today, he has a pinched nerve or something going in in his shoulder. It really hurts today.

The day that made my life worth living...

I got this video from Aylssa my sister -in- law (thanks).

If you get a chance take the time to watch it all the way to the end. I remember the day day I got saved, the day I decided to live for God and not for myself. And I remeber feeling exactly like what is depicted at the end of the video when "Jesus" is holding back all the "things" that try to tear us down. I cannot ever explain the weight that was lifted off me that day. I could feel it so deep inside of me. The feeling of not knowing whether I was saved or not was gone. The feeling that no one cared about me was gone. I then knew I had HIM and that HE cared enough about me to chase me down and catch me. HE fought so hard for me and I cannot thank HIM enough for that. All I can do is give everything I can back to HIM. And HE always gives me back so much more.

This is Old

Grandpa Wentzel made this for Kobe quite a while ago. I had forgotten why he made it and then I saw it was labled "Get Better" and remembered Mark Made it for Kobe & emailed it to me one day when Kobe was sick. Kobe got such a kick out of it :)

Jackie & Tony

This is the beginning of a video I am making for a rehearsal dinner. Jackie & Tony are both big travelors & Tony's Mom wanted to include that in the video in a neat way & I think I found a way to do that :) This is just the opening...

Caleb-boy he is getting big!

Flying Dutchman

For those of you that have ever had to watch Spongebob you may have seen the episodes with the flying dutchman. Well, all the sudden last night Kobe changes into a pair of Ben's shorts and was running around yelling "I'm a flying dutchman!" It was so hysterical!

So happy

Last night (Sunday evening) we were SO happy to just spend time with Kobe. We rented Bridge to Terebithia and all sat down and watched it. Even though the end of the movie wasn't very good I know Ben and I were just enjoying SITTING and being with Kobe.

Thank you Cindy & Mark for all your help this past week watching Kobe, he had such a blast! You are always there for us and we really appreciate that. Kobe loves you guys so much (Ben and I hope he loves us as much as he loves you! :) )

Life

My Dress for Kristy's Wedding, Steamed and ready for Saturday!!!

Our Beautiful New Tile Floor!!! Thank you Ben and Mark, you two are amazing!

:) jealous I guess

I just got back from the grocery store and I swear every aisle had a pregnant woman in it. Not that I don't like pregnant women, there was just so many of them!

Kristy & Joel

This is a slideshow I made for Kristy to play while her guests are being seated at the wedding. I added the song so it wasn't boring to watch on the internet, but obviously at the wedding there will be wedding music, not this song repeating a million times :) Her wedding is on the 18th in which I am the Maid of Honor so I am going to have a busy week this week!

Grouting

I can't believe it!

The tile is almost done! Ben & Mark have done such a great job! What a learning experience. At the same time Mark & Cindy have been having there bathroom re-done and they have been able to ask the tiling guy questions and observe what he is doing. God has such a neat way of blessing us with help like that :)

SO, we all need to get together. All of us up here in Michigan, and any of you in South Carolina who want to make a trip up lol, we should all get togther here in a couple weeks. like Labour Day or something.
