Making a Pinyata...

...takes more than 36 hours :)
Last Friday I got it in my head that I wanted to have a pinyata for when Michael came over.  Because I have been being frugal lately I didn't want to spend $20 on one that I am sure would not really even break open.

So, I looked around on the internet to see how to make one.  Here is what you do-cheap and easy I might add!

Blow up a balloon and set it in something to stabilize it.

Mix up 1 Cup of Flour with 2 Cups of water...
Cut up some newspaper into strips...
Then is you are feeling brave have your 6 year old jump in and help (this makes the process about 6 times as messy as it needs to be-but kids like that)
Next, dip the newspaper into the flour and water mixture and lay that on the balloon covering it fully.

Once you cover the balloon in one layer you have to let it try.  Then you repeat this process 3 or 4 times.  I did not end up having enough time to do that AND let it dry.  Right now it is hanging up in the garage.  It has dried and hardened and it seems to be a success.  When I decorate it I will show you guys the end result.

I also have been trying out some other things I have never done before like this
-and they turned out really good!

I also tried this out and trust me girls-if you are married to a Wentzel and you want to make them happy make it!

I made this on Sunday and got rave reviews -I made it with Angus Beef instead of hamburger though.

I am going to try this tonight...if it is good I am sure you will hear about it :)
