Adventures in Crock Potting: Part Uno

So, as I have mentioned several times I have NEVER *gasp* used a crock pot to cook anything.  Well, after this past Saturday I can no longer say that and I am happy to report my crock pot's maiden voyage turned out great!

So, here is my crock pot...from last Christmas...still in the box...
Ok, it is out. Now what do I do with it?
I had some spare ribs that need to be cooked but only had a tiny bit of BBQ sauce in the fridge.  So I googled home made BBQ sauce recipes and found three that I liked and mixed them all together to make my own version.
1 C. of Worcestershire Sauce
1. C. Ketsup
Half of a large onion diced...
Not pictured:

1 C. Chicken Broth
3 Ts. Minced Garlic
1 1/2 Ts. Chili Powder

I put the onions on the bottom and then thru the meat on top of it.  Then I decided to grab some of the onion from the bottom and put them on top of the meat.
I mixed all of the other ingredients together in another bowl and then dumped them over the meat.
I set it on high and cooked it for about 5 1/2 hours.  It didn't turn out beautiful but it tasted really good!

Thankful For:
God's Grace in Ben & I's jobs.  We both work on basically commission which could be terrifying considering what has been going on in the job market but God has been SO faithful with us and has blessed us with the amount of work/business we need!  When I get overwhelmed because I am just too busy I stop myself and thank God that I have work to make me so busy!

Just look at it this way Leah. Your dinner doesn't have to look pretty, just taste great because it will look worse in your stomach!

I have never used crock pot very much but I know my girls do and so does Grandma Ghent. I just do not cook that much any more.
