Kobe's 1st grade Harvest Party

Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how much FUN Kobe's party was!  It was so cool, basically the whole day the kids worked on creating a whole meal from scratch!  The two first grade classes worked together.  Kobe's class made chicken soup from scratch with home made noodles they made them selves...

...they peeled and diced up the carrots for the soup (that was my station)...
...and they had a pie making station (they made pumpkin pies from scratch-real pumpkin and everything.

They also made their own Cider!  One of the people who works at the school owns this little Cinder Press and the kids got to make Cider!  So cool.  The also made butter from shaking Heavy Whipping Cream and made Whipped Cream by blending up more cream with sugar!

The other class made corn bread, apple sauce & apple crisp all from scratch too!!!!

Later in the day the kids made a craft that I whipped up the day before (the teacher asked me the day before the party if I could come up with a craft for the kids to do without putting any money into it!~)  This is what I came up with:
My turkey is on the left, Kobe's is on the right.  I cut out 20 of these little faces, wings, feet & gobblers all the day before....it kinda reminded me of this.

The kids had a blast doing the cooking, playing games, eating & making their turkeys, I was glad I got to be there to see it all and help!

How cool!!! I think that is such a neat idea. All the kids got to realize what goes into cooking a meal and I am sure they loved doing it and it involves such team working together. What a great learning experience. I always loved being involved in what my girls did at school and I am sure you love it and so did Kobe.
