4 months later...

Ben and I have finally cleared the "office" and it will soon be turned into a children's bedroom.
It has been 4 months since our classes, 6 1/2 - 7 months since we decided to peruse adopted of any form and an unknown number of months before any "new" kids come into this house.

It is weird to try to decide how to decorate a room for a child/children that you know nothing about-no age-no gender-no names.  My goal is to make it comfortable, safe and theirs in some impossible way.

Besides the basics can anyone think of any comfort items that would make kids more at home?  Toys?  Cozy blankets?  Art on the walls?

I've heard pajamas are a hit. Most of these children have never had their own pair and some don't even know what they are. I vote for cozy pj's, slippers and a blankee.

Great idea, and I will tell you to get 100% cotton whatever you do get b/c a lot of kids are allergic or react to polyester.
Stuffed animals are great too of course. A big cuddly teddy bear:)!!!

Music works wonders too. Maybe have a little kids cd player in there with some kids songs, and night time songs. I check out new kids CDs from the library each week for Kendra, and she loves them!

I think just having their own room is going to be such a neat, comfortable area for them. I know they would love having their own blanket and with all the love you guys will give them they will love your home.

thanks for the ideas-because we are doing younger kids I am half tempted to go out and buy one of ever kind of paci too because you know how addicted little ones can be to those and they usually have a favorite kind and if they don't have it I am almost scared of what putting them to bed could be like!
