I am always surprised how many people tell me that "They have always wanted to do foster care, but..." after I tell them Ben and I are about to be licensed.
Can you imagine what a different world this would be if there wasn't a "but" on the end of those sentences?
I agree but it does take a special person to be a foster mom because those children require someone to really love them and care for them and not there for just the money. (which I know is not much but I also know individuals that did it for the wrong reasons)
So true!! It does definitely need to be the right people though. I know you agree with that:). It takes special people, and I believe as Christians that it is a calling by God!!
Are you all ready now and waiting?? We are still praying for your kids!
I'm with you on this. I can't tell you how many people tell us the same thing about adopting someday....We always smile and nod....and think, "There's not a chance." I wish it could be different...that orphan was a foreign word...that foster care wasn't needed....Big Sigh. One (or five) kid(s) at a time, Leah. That's what WE can do....and we'll see what God will do.
yes, true. but like gram said...it takes a special person to be able to do it. there are many challenges--and to do it well and be a benefit to those children, takes a gift. just like youth leading and pastoring, not everyone is called to do be in that position. I'm glad you two were!
