Have you ever made Red Velvet cake batter? Well, I hadn't before Sunday, my curiosity had finally gotten the best of me. Several times on "Whose Wedding is it Anyway?" different brides and grooms have chosen a Red Velvet cake for their wedding cake. I had never had it and finally I thought I should try it. No, I didn't make it from scratch, I bought the box version and yes, I was very surprised how incredibly RED the batter was and how RED the cupcakes were even after they were baked.
So, Kobe liked them, I thought they tasted chocolatey. That was all I could come up with.
Does anyone know what Red Velvet is supposed to taste like or be???

I have made it from scratch along time ago when everything I made was from scratch. There is a lot of red food coloring that goes into that recipe, it is avery moist and chocolatey (sp) cake. You would love the homemade version. Seems like I can remember my mom making it when we were young, I will have to ask her. I love your pic. Hope you are having a great day!

I believe it is supposed to taste like the fur on Reindeer antlers! That is why you can only buy it in the fall and neer Christmas! :)
