Play Date

Wednesday Kobe has Griffin and Griffin's older brother Davis over to play in between school and church.  The boys had a great time.  Right after school we went to Halo Burger where they played for an hour, and then it was back to our house for bionicals and video games.

Now, I have to tattle on myself and Kobe.  Tuesday night we were scheduled to have Hanson's Windows come out and give us an estimate.  We ended up re-scheduling but I had already cleaned most of the house anyway.  Kobe says to me, "Mom can you clean my room before Griffin and his brother come over?" - ok, I have to stop right there.  There are a few too many things wrong with that question.  So, anyway, I come back with "What are you going to do for me if I clean your room?"  Kobe thinks about it, thinks about it, and comes up with this:
"Me and Dad will go to the store and buy you some earrings"

He's learning well isn't he.

Kobe's Phases

Lately Kobe has been drawing, a lot.  His little friend Griffin gave him this giant pen and he has been carting that and paper around the house for a few days now.  He is big into drawing spider-man beating up the different bad guys.  He does pretty good too.  He always draws one of their features that distinguishes them from the other characters in his drawings.

As you can see, up here in the North we think if it is 40 degrees out that it is time to pull out the shorts and T-shirts  :)

Apparently Ben and I like to take pictures...

...of other people's babies...

Cute ones,

Big cheeked ones,

Pretty ones,

Ones from South Carolina,

Ones who smile, alot,

Ones who think "Are we done yet?"

And ones who wave.

The super exciting going ons of Ben, Leah and Kobe

One of my "internet friends" has a blog and the title of it was something to the effect of the title of this post but with her family's names of course. When I read it it cracked me up. She has a great sense of humor. I thought it would make a great title for this post considering it is going to be all over the place.

*notice the carpeted floor.  This was prior to the tile going in.  I love our tile!

Ben and I are quickly approaching a decision about our windows. I will tell you what, Wallside Windows is looking better and better. We went to Home Depot on Sunday and priced out everything. We talked with an employee that was an older guy that used to install windows and it gave us a good insight into how much we don't know about window installation. After going through the numbers it seems that it just wouldn't save us that much money to do it ourselves. So, we shall see.

I just love this picture of Kobe.  It was taken 2 years ago.  I can't believe time goes so quickly.  Valentine's day will be here before we know it.

Next Monday Kobe's class is going to a play of Charlotte's Web.  The whole class is very excited.  I am going with them so that should be fun.  Hopefully we have good seats!

And, in closing, I think Ben and I need a pool.

The End.

My Boys!

Well, Ben is sick. He has a cold or something. I knew he would come down with something this week. He just had TOO much going on and it's cold so those two things + no sleep = poor Ben.

In other news, Friday ended up being Kobe's big day to TIE MRS. BAKER'S SHOES and HE DID IT! YEA! He came home with his bright pink slinky. He was pretty pumped about it. I think I was more excited about it that he was, there is just something about your child succeeding that makes you feel so good inside!!! He said he tied her shoes and they stayed tied for 1/2 hour. Yea Kobe!

I am sure if you listen to Christian radio stations you guys have recently heard this song SEVERAL times like I have. I wondered if he had a music video for it, but I came across this and it was really cute so I thought I would share it for all of you that have little Cinderellas at home. And I am sure that we who are at wedding all the time will be hearing it as the father/daughter dance music very soon too.

For the most the most part this is what David looks like right now, these pictures are about a month old and babies change so quickly so he does look a little different than these.

He is one happy sweet baby.

He loves loves loves this crazy contraption.  I don't know that I have ever heard him whining to get out of it yet.

And he loves loves loves to eat, and wipe peas on me.

Bobbie and Dave are lucky to have such a good little boy, and I am lucky to be his Aunt!

The Auto Show

Yes, it is that time of year again.  The Auto Show is in full swing down in Detroit, that is where Ben will be for most of the day.  He worked there on Monday too.

Guess who has NEVER been to the Auto Show, yes, that would be me.
Why? you ask.

Because as cool, sleek, new and exciting as this is...

I don't really care.  :)

And considering that the most interesting thing that Ben mentioned...

...was this sign stating that this was the "Bubble Bee" from Transformers,

I have a feeling I wouldn't be very fun to go with.  Who would have thought, me, not fun?  :)

Yeah, despite being married to Ben, I have managed to continue in my not caring about cars all that much.  I do like my new car though SO much better than my silver liberty!

Mark Wentzel

This picture is so much better big  :)   I guess Ben emailed it to me while  he was texting it around.
Now when People google  "Mark Wentzel" this might just pop up!  :)

Anyway, boy what a day.  Mark, Cindy, Ben and Shelly are all physically exhausted.  Everyone is is emotionally exhausted, at least I am.

Praise God that Mark came through the surgery well.

Even though we did not get the result we hoped for today we praise God for HIS grace in all things.

Mark & Kobe's Painting

Well, this morning Ben went over and met Mark & Cindy at their house at 5 am. I believe Shelly did too. I received a text for Ben at 8 am saying they took his Dad in about 15 minutes ago.

Last night Ben was on the phone with Mark, probably around 9:30 pm. Mark mentioned that there were basically three outcomes that could potentially happen today. I think we all know what those are. But Ben told his Dad that there was only one outcome that he (Ben) was expecting, planning on, and hoping for.

I have always been a pessimist. There have been plenty of times that Ben has had to have enough faith and optimism for both of us. But, last night I realized that, as far as I know, in the Bible it never says, hope for the best but plan for the worst, which is what I tend to do.

It says "Delight yourself in the Lord and HE shall give you the desires of your heart", "I have made plans to bless you, not hurt you", "Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

That is what it says, so that is what TRUTH is. It is sad I spend so much of my time not thinking like that.

Regardless, I am very excited to hear later today that the surgery was success, whatever that means.

***Right after I hit "publish post" on here my phone rang and it was Ben.  He said the nurse came out and was very excited because they found the spot that was causing trouble and they seem to be able to fix it.

Wow, praise God.

Mr. Bionical

Kobe has an obsession with these things.

He likes to hang them off things in the house and pose them like they are in epic struggles.

He and Grandpa Wentzel are even working on a painting of one.

THANK YOU UNCLE JASON and Kobe's "favorite" ;) AUNT SHELLY!!!

Kobe came home so wide eyed and excited from the circus.  He had a great time with you guys.

He told me all about the elephants, bears, and monkeys that took their pants off :)

He had an absolute blast!  Thanks for taking him.  I am so glad he and Brook have each other to do fun stuff with.

JUNO - cute movie

Tonight was date night-with myself. Yes, poor me, basketball widow, went to the movies by myself. I always go by myself when there is a movie I really want to see and I want to really sink into. This was one of those movies. I know Ben wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did so it was a great time for me to go. I love teenage mellow dramas. They are my vice.

And I had sour patch kids. Then I wanted popcorn because after sweet stuff I always want salty stuff but I said no to that.

"Wallside Windows for $5004.00 please, Alex"

Yes, good news!  We got our first estimate on replacing almost every window in the house and the door wall.  It all came to $5004.  On sale.  Yeah.

So, obviously we will be getting other estimates.  Their windows were amazing though.  Darn it, why am I not a millionaire yet!  :)

Anyway, the next company we are having come give us an estimate is Hanson's.  That should be interesting.

Look! They were handing out party favors at Youth Group tonight!

And they were nice enough to share them with me!  Well, maybe that isn't what happened.
I love kids, they are so generous and respectful and non-sneaky.

Kobe Randomness

Here is kobe putting bunny ears on my dad...

Here he is lint rolling himself...

Here he is in the "you wouldn't chill out" spot, looking very happy I might add...

Here he is looking at me like "are you done yet"...

Yeah, even I don't know what this is all about...

Another episode of Kobe's Thoughts on Life...

I think we may be sending Kobe to school too close to "the hood"...

My new car!

I love that it looks so much more like my first jeep (what a real jeep should look like!)
I am a bit concerned though.
-My first Jeep got smashed on the walls of I-69.
-My second Jeep was a lot more fortunate though.  It only rear ended one car & hit a deer.  That is better right?
-My third Jeep will not get it any accidents.  Hopefully.

Lindsey's Wedding Planning

I have planned Lindsey's wedding from start to finished.  If you want a sneak peak into her day here it is:

1.  I will be having Lindsey's make-up done by a drag queen.

2.  I will have her where black leggings and black pumps to the wedding.  AND she will have to stand in the snow on the train tracks for a while, just to get her in the right mind frame for a wedding.

3.  One of Lindsey's plans before the wedding is to get a GIANT tattoo on her shoulder.  Maybe even both if they are having a 2 for 1 sale at the tattoo shop.

4. Here is where Lindsey and Ryan will be saying their vows.  Hopefully no one falls off.

It should be an interesting wedding!
