Spider Angioma

When Kobe was little he had the most perfect little face.  He always had really pretty skin and nothing out of the ordinary.
Then, this tiny little red dot appeared on his cheek.
I had the doctor look at it once and he didn't seem concerned about it.
Over the years it has continued to get bigger.

I looked it up on the internet and discovered it was called a spider angioma.
I eventually took him to a skin doctor (about a month ago) and he confirmed that that is what it was.  On the internet I learned that in children they usually disappear.
AND IT FINALLY HAS :)  I was so excited to see it disappear before my very eyes!

So this is what Foster Parents look like

We went to see the movie "Hotel for Dogs" a couple weeks ago and, you guessed it, it was about two foster kids.

This is how the movie portrayed their current foster parents.

So, if Ben and I start dressing like this and perhaps even decide to start our own band you will know why.  Apparently that is how foster parents roll.  :)

The boys

Yesterday David came over and spent the day with me.  When Kobe got home from school David was so excited to play with him.  Kobe can do no wrong in David's eyes, every thing he does is hilarious and even if David does not want to eat something if Kobe gives it to him he will happily eat it.
David also thinks Kobe's bedroom is the most exciting place on earth.  We spent a lot of time in there checking out all of the big kid toys.
Bobbie and Dave came to pick up David and stayed for a while.  I got to feel little Noah kick & move around inside of Bobbie and he got the hick ups.  Bobbie is due at the end of February but looks like she could go any day now.  Her belly is a bit torpedo like and I have a feeling Noah will be a bit bigger than David was when he was born.  Bobbie still looks great though, her typical little pregnant self.  :)

Crack Me Up

In response to Lindsay's cute post about Elle's first pigtails I would like to offer you my not so cute post:

Kobe's First Pig Tails :)

Kobe thought the top middle one was funny, but once the camera came out he was NOT so happy with me, which led the these funny pictures:

So, yesterday morning I woke up with the flu.  Not so fun.  From 6 am - 1 pm I would wake up, feel sick, throw up and then go back to sleep.  Not my idea of a fun day.  Ben took Kobe to school, which made me realize that was the 2nd time in 2 1/2 years that Ben has taken Kobe to school.  The last time was Kobe's first day of Pre School.  How time flies.
God was gracious with me yesterday and had my sickness calm down right when it was time to go get Kobe from school and I never got sick again, even though I still felt like I was going to I never was.
It was a long day, but I feel SO much better today, totally normal which is nice.  Kobe has his 2nd basket ball game tomorrow so we are excited about that.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Apparently whatever made Kobe sick was short lived.  He threw up a total of 2 times, once on Monday at 7 pm, then at 1:30 am that night and that was the end of it.  Yesterday he felt fine and played as he normally does.  He will be back to school today.

Thanks for the prayers :)

Kobe's first Basket ball game Video

Well, I guess Kobe isn't faking.  He woke up at 1:30 am and threw up again.  It is now 8:23 am and he hasn't puked since.

*Yesterday Kobe had the day off from school, after he woke up he continually complained of his stomach bothering him and his throat bothering him but for the most part acted like him self but with no appetite.  He then threw up around 7 pm and then at 1:30 am.  We will see what happens today.

Kobe has not thrown up since the first time around 7 pm.  i am still trying to figure out if he got himself to puke so he could stay up late to see ben or if he really got sick, I am leaning towards the latter.
we've got a puker.

lovely.  And I thought he was just trying to get out of going to school tomorrow.

Tooth #3

Well, I did it.  This tooth was VERY loose and ready to come out!!!  At first I told Ben he had to do this one, so he got all ready to do it, and then Kobe suckered him into "I want mom to watch" so Ben brings him out to the living room with me and then Kobe said a tearful, "I want Mom to do it" and it was all over.  I was so thankful this one was so loose.  It was SO less pathetic than the first time I pulled his tooth, this one I just grabbed it and pulled and it was done.

If you don't live up here in the Arctic enjoy your weather today, if you are fortunate enough to live up here with us be thankful for your warm car and house!  That is what I keep doing as I watch the temp go from -1 to 0.

ewe..

another one of Kobe's teeth needs to come out-I am going to try to get Ben to do it this time.  I don't like doing it.

2008 was...

...a pretty easy year for us.  We didn't have a lot of earth shattering choices to make-really just one that popped up out of no where.

Here is a glimpse into our 2008:

January:

I hit a deer with my car (way to start this list off on a good note)

Mark had some heart problems and Doctors decided to do surgery to fix them.
After the surgery the doctor states, "Your heart seems to have fixed itself"

I get a new car (not because of the deer)

February:

March:

April:

May:

Ben and I decided to adopt- not knowing what way God would lead us to do so.

June:

July:

August:

Dakota is Born

September:

October:

November:

I turn 25 years old

December:

Ben and I turn the "office" into a children's bedroom

I am shaking my head at the first thing I wrote in this post:

"This was a pretty easy year for us"

What?!?!  After going through the events of this year all I can say is I am so THANKFUL for the grace God has shown to all of us in so many situations!  I am so excited to see what this year brings.  Next year, when I do this same post, it will be interesting to see what it holds.

Lord, guide our steps, prepare our hearts, and help us to run this course with all we have for You!

We have been getting some snow...

...so we have been doing LOTS of this:
Yes, this is my thrilled face :)
See how happy Ben is to shovel!  He is one happy boy!!!

Belive it or not, I don't mind the shoveling that much.  If you keep up with it it is pretty easy.  Of course, right now I am inside blogging and Ben is outside shoveling-maybe that is why I don't think it's too bad :)
